Twin-Stick Shooter Rive Coming to Nintendo Switch, Nixed Wii U Version

Sorry Wii U, but I guess we've upgraded already.

The twin-stick shooter named Rive was set to release a version on Wii U, but developer Twin Tribes has announced that it has been canceled and a Switch version will be taking its place.

Rive was previously delayed for the Wii U, with Twin Tribes telling Nintendo Life, "We won't release Rive unless it's a solid 60 FPS, and if that means delaying it to a future platform, we will make that call and make sure Nintendo fans get the perfect experience." Well, as it turns out, that version was canceled in favor of a Switch version that runs at a constant 60 FPS.

The game was originally launched on PlayStation 4 and PC last year and it received an 8/10 review from GameZone.

The move from Wii U to Switch was probably a good move on Twin Tribes, as production of the Wii U has halted and the last first-party game scheduled for the system is the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
