[Watch] Marvel drops the first official trailer for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2’

"Get ready, it'll be here any minute!"

Marvel has revealed the first official trailer for 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2' on last night's Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Yesterday, Marvel surprised audiences with a short tease to the first official trailer for 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2'. The teaser featured our favorite space-bound ne'er-do-wells sitting around a campfire and exchanging questionable glances, while Drax eats…"something" the others don't seem to agree with.

It turns out the teaser was in reference to the most recent episode of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', where all the latest Marvel Studios trailers and reveals make their debut. The trailer is a lot more dense than its predecessors and does a phenomenal job reminding us why we missed the Guardians so much!

The newest footage features a lot of what we saw previously, but this time, it seems Nebula is also going to be involved with the team as a reluctant participant. The whole trailer is an action-packed, colorful bad-ass adventure. The big reveal, however, comes at the end. We finally get our first official glimpse of Star-Lord's father, J'sonn of Spartoi, but officially headlined in this movie as Ego (The Living Planet). We've already had a few examples that clued us in ahead of time to how he'd look, but this is the only real footage we have of the role about to be made famous by the legendary Kurt Russell.

The movie stars Chris Pratt, Kurt Russell, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, and Sylvester Stallone.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 releases May 5th!
