It also launches April 20 in Japan on Netlfix

A few months ago, we reported on a Japanese live-action Final Fantasy XIV TV show called Daddy of Light being announced for Japanese Netflix. we've since gotten a few trailers, but today we've been given a release date and news on a worldwide release.

In Japan, the show will launch on Netflix on April 20. Worldwide audiences will have to wait until Fall, but Daddy of Light will, in fact, have an international release on Netflix as well.

"Titled "Final Fantasy XIV Daddy of Light", the show will broadcast on MBS/TBS in Japan this April. The drama was inspired by the story of a father and son whose relationship changes due to their interactions within Final Fantasy XIV. The show will focus on what it's like participating in the Final Fantasy world from the outside, though the game is prominently featured as well."

The interesting part about this show is that it was based on a real-life story of a Final Fantasy XIV player, based on a blog of his experiences.
