Bungie confirms they will not be showing Destiny 2’s Xbox One version at gameplay reveal event

Just PC and PS4.

After invitations to Bungie's Destiny 2 reveal event began popping up online, the mega-developer has stepped forward to talk about the event a little bit on their blog. The biggest detail to glean from the post is that the mystery console that will be used to show off Destiny 2 is the PS4. This is hardly surprising given the support that PlayStation has gotten from both Bungie and publisher Activision over this console generation.

Here's an excerpt from the post on Bungie's blog:

You might have noticed that we’re inviting some special guests from the media and our community to be part of a live audience for this premiere. They’ll be among the first players to get some hands-on time with Destiny 2 immediately after the conclusion of the livestream. The PS4 and PC versions of the game will be on display, so you should expect another wave of news, coverage, and content to dig into after the event is over.

The Destiny 2 gameplay reveal event will take place on Thursday, May 18th, beginning at 10 AM PST with a keynote presentation. There will be a livestream coinciding with the event that will presumably start around the same time, and you can expect lots of coverage to come out in the following days.

Destiny 2 releases on PS4, PC and Xbox One on September 8th, 2017.
