Rumor: Call of Duty might be heading for the Nintendo Switch

Maybe.

A developer that has worked on both a Call of Duty remaster and platform port has released an image that inadvertently teased the concept of Call of Duty: WWII releasing on the Nintendo Switch.

Beenox, the company behind the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Modern Warfare Remastered, shared a photograph of a few staff members mingling with representatives of the Canadian Army. The image came with the tag 'COD'.

Reading too much into the image, it's unclear whether Beenox will be in charge of the PC version of the upcoming addition to the franchise, Call of Duty: WWII, or if they are working on another version of the game altogether… like perhaps a Nintendo Switch version (seeing as there's no Xbox 360/PS3 version of WWII).

There's also a chance that the studio could be working on the groundwork for another Call of Duty too.

In 2005, Beenox became a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision and has worked on several franchises for the publisher since then, most notably Call of Duty, Skylanders, and Spider-Man.
