[WATCH] Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age releases story trailer, showing off improved visuals

Final Fantasy XII has never looked better.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age continues its march towards release with an all-new story trailer that was released earlier today. The trailer shows the broad context of the familiar story of Ashe's struggle to reclaim her home of Dalmasca from the oppressive rule of the Arcadian Empire and the street urchin, Vaan yearning to become a Sky Pirate.

Here it is:

We also get looks at the rest of the characters who make up your party; Fran, the bow-wielding Viera (bunny lady), Balthier, the troped up charming sky pirate, Basch, the falsely accused soldier, and Penelo, Vaan's childhood friend and general moral compass.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age changes up its formula by further drawing on its Final Fantasy Tactics influences by introducing the Zodiac Job System, which allows players to pick two of twelve traditional character jobs. This job system was previously only available over in Japan via Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac System, so it's cool to see it make its way West.

The game will also be getting a remastered soundtrack featuring live performances, 7.1-surround sound support, an autosave feature, achievements, and faster loading times. Suffice it to say; this will be the best way to experience Final Fantasy XII when The Zodiac Age releases exclusively on July 11th, 2017.
