Hideaki Itsuno, the director of the Devil May Cry series and Dragon's Dogma has taken to Twitter in regards to the lack of his franchise's appearance at E3. While it has been quite some time since we've heard anything from the two series, he suggests that 'something' is in the works.
Sorry to not announce anything at E3.
Please wait as my project is progressing smoothly.E3は発表無しでゴメンなさい。プロジェクトは順調なので発表までお待ち下さい。

It's unclear whether its a new IP, or a sequel to an existing one, but Devil May Cry has a large following as it stands, and Dragon's Dogma has been released on PC and a remaster is planned for current gen consoles. Dragon's Dogma is a fresh idea in the RPG genre, and a sequel would most likely be welcomed, especially if it improves on the original's unique formula.
Devil May Cry received a title in 2013 called DmC: Devil May Cry, but it served more as a reboot of the series that was overseen by Itsuno but produced and directed by different people and was ill-received at best. This leaves many clamoring for a proper Devil May Cry 5.
So which will it be? Devil May Cry or Dragon's Dogma? Or is there reason to believe it's a different IP or even a new one?
