Early reactions to Spider-Man: Homecoming are gushing with praise

Success!

Spider-Man: Homecoming is easily one of the most anticipated movies of the summer. Not only is it a new Marvel movie, but it's Spider-Man's first solo outing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have been waiting many years for this and it's finally happening.

In the film, Peter Parker is mentored by none other than Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. Tony only sees Peter as a kid so he's not fully ready to let him be an Avenger but he gives him a bunch of fancy Stark tech to allow him to still protect New York. Eventually, a big threat arrives in the form of The Vulture and Peter takes it upon himself to stop him and prove to Tony Stark that he's not just a kid and he can do more than just prevent petty crimes around New York. On top of all of that, Peter has to balance his high school life which is one of the big selling points. The movie has been described as a John Hughes-esque film and if some early reactions from press are anything to go off of, it lives up to that and more.

For the last few weeks, Marvel has been hosting advanced screenings for Spider-Man: Homecoming for press and other lucky fans and last night they all got to tweet out their initial thoughts. While full blown reviews are embargoed until June 29th, these tweets give you a very good idea of what to expect with the film. The movie is getting overwhelming amounts of praise with people labeling it as the best Marvel movie and the best Spider-Man movie yet (some only go as far as saying it's the best since Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2).
