John Boyega stars in the Jaeger Recruitment video for the upcoming sequel, 'Pacific Rim Uprising'.
One of the most anticipated sequels coming our way has to be follow-up to Guillermo Del Toro's 2013 smash hit, 'Pacific Rim'. Fans were saddened to hear the Del Toro would not be getting back in the directorial seat with his overflowing docket of ambitious projects, as well as the absence of protagonist, Raleigh, played by 'Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam. Fortunately, 'The Force Awakens' star, John Boyega, was plugged to be the next Jaeger pilot to lead humanity to victory.
During this year's San Diego Comic Con, the promo footage officially released for the sequel, 'Pacific Rim Uprising'. The video shows a heartfelt breakdown of what it means to pilot a Jaeger, the colossal mechanical marvels built to defend humanity from the scourge of the towering Kaiju monsters. The difference this time around seems to be a single pilot system, as opposed to the dual-pilot required in the first movie. The trailer featured the new line of Jaegers considering all the originals were destroyed at the end of the last movie. Hopefully, we'll have some new footage soon, but this seems to be enough to get us excited for the sequel right now.
Pacific Rim Uprising releases February 23, 2018!
