Sea of Thieves is shaping up to be something special, especially if you're the type of player who knows how to make their own fun within a game's rules. That's exactly what the latest developer gameplay video from Rare is about, as not only does it show how seamless cross play is with PC and Xbox One players, but how easy it is to get lost in the world and have fun with other players without actually following the rules.

While other players may not be so understanding, it's cool to see the potential for like-minded players who just want to fool around can pour hours into Sea of Thieves without actually accomplishing much. Developing an in-game system of communication just by blinking lanterns, and then challenging another vessel to a race is kind the kind of flexibility that's so often lost in most games, but it looks like Rare has committed to be just that; flexible.
Speaking of Sea of Thieves and flexibility, the game will be able to run on a wide variety of PCs as the game can be locked at 540p/15 FPS, which allows even low-end laptops in on the fun. There's still no concrete launch date for Sea of Thieves, but it is expected to launch in 2018.
