If you don't already own PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, you are officially missing out on history being made. Bluehole's Battle Royale shooter has officially passed Valve's own DotA 2 for the most concurrent players all-time with 1,348,374 according to Steam Charts (via Polygon). The game just recently broke the one million player mark of simultaneous players about nine days ago, so to grow to this level so soon is undoubtedly incredible.
What's also amazing about the record is that it has been set by a game that is still in Early Access, so for all the doubt and suspicion that fans tend to show towards these games, the numbers seem to tell a different story. This is not to mention that the previous record holder, DotA 2 is a free-to-play game, another type of payment model that is often scoffed at.
PUBG has already sold over 10 million copies, which is sure to skyrocket when the game releases into the Xbox One Preview Program later this year. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is currently still on track to release in full during Q4 2017 on PC, according to an update on the game's Steam page, so you can probably expect the Early Access doubters (at least the ones that aren't hypocrites) to jump in one that happens.
