Horizon Zero Dawn Patch 1.33 Allows Manual Saves For New Run Throughs

No more saving over your old save by accident!

Guerrilla Games has been quiet recently, enjoying the success of Horizon: Zero Dawn and getting ready for its expansion in November. But this week, they came out of hiding and released a patch.

Patch 1.33 addressed a number of technical issues that came with New Game + and the Ultra Hard difficulty. It also added the ability to manually save, as to avoid losing progress on a different run-through.

Here's a look at the patch notes:

New Features

  • Implemented an option to allow making a manual save from a previous Game when starting a New Game to avoid losing progress.

General Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where for some players Tearblast Arrows incorrectly deal extra Tear damage on Ultra Hard.
  • Fixed an issue where some players were able to reroll Special Modification Boxes by saving and reloading.

Progression issues fixes

  • Fixed an issue in ‘The Womb of the Mountain’ when playing on Story difficulty where some players were able to kill the Corruptor outside of the gate, blocking progression because the player is not able to interact with it to continue the quest.

The DLC for Horizon: Zero Dawn, titled The Frozen Wilds, will release on November 7.
