[NSFW] Netflix pulls children’s TV show episode for having a drawing of a dong

No birds and the bees, please.

Apparently, someone thought they weren't being paid enough (kidding). Maya The Bee is a children's TV show based off of a German children's book series from the early 1990s, and it has found itself in some hot water (not that kind of hot). A parent spotted what is clearly a drawing of a penis in one of its episodes and took to Facebook (via EW) to post her reaction.

"Please be mindful of what your kids are watching. I did NOT edit any images whatsoever, this is Maya the Bee Season 1, Episode 35. I know I’m not going crazy and I know that something like this shouldn’t be in a kids’ show whatsoever."

Here's a screencap of the image (via Variety):

Yep. That's a penis, and it's pretty much impossible to miss.

The episode in question is Season 1, Episode 35, which Netflix has since taken down, but has not made a statement on the situation. The show is produced by Studio 100 Animation, a French animation studio while Netflix is only the distributor of the show.

You can also check out this video made by the parent in question, Chey Robinson.

It's also unclear if Netflix will replace the episode with a "clean" version, and it's also odd that it's taken so long for someone to notice the penis. The show has been around since 2012 and available on Netflix since 2013, so why it's taken almost half a decade for this to come to light is actually quite astonishing.
