PlayStation2 system and Wii
Versions Ship to Stores Across North America
SEGA of America, Inc. today
announced that Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity for the Wii home video game system
from Nintendo and the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system has shipped to
stores across North America. This intense racing game brings the rush of
adrenaline that racing fans are looking for and is packed with stunning
environments, all-new moves, and vehicles that evolve to offer a high-velocity
white-knuckle experience for any gamer.
For the first time ever, Sonic
Riders: Zero Gravity gives players the ultimate in speed boosts with the ability
to control gravity. Sonic and friends can now take advantage of two brand new
moves – Gravity Control and Gravity Dive. With just a push of a button, Gravity
Control can change the laws of physics, altering courses by turning walls into
tracks and creating alternate pathways to access new shortcuts and Item Boxes.
Then, gamers can experience the ultimate speed boost with Gravity Dive, an
amazing gravity-defying power that causes objects to hurtle through the air at
an incredible velocity. Using Gravity Dive, players can also grind on objects
floating through the air and refill their gravity meter giving them increased
air time. Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity features 18 playable characters – 12
characters from the first Sonic Riders ™ game including Sonic, Knuckles and
Tails, and six characters new to the Riders universe including Silver and Blaze.
The game also puts players in the driver’s seat with a series of advanced racing
vehicles (known as gear) – some of which can be evolved either through power-ups
or using collected rings in the store. With 60 types of gear available, players
are sure to find their ultimate speed machine.
Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity offers
multiple gameplay modes to satisfy single player and multiplayer fans. The game
features Story mode, an action-packed single player experience, along with
several additional challenges that are available for both single and multiplayer
gamers. Multiplayer modes can be played by up to four players and includes
Survival Relay (run the relay using Gear as batons), Survival Ball (use Gravity
Control to shoot the ball and score), Survival Battle (slam foes with objects
using the Gravity powers) and the unlockable World Grand Prix, where players can
unlock a circuit and race for the ultimate racing challenge. Finally, gamers can
take advantage of the Wii online capabilities via Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection and
upload high scores to the international rankings or race against the ghost of
players from around the world to beat international high scores.
