After 'exciting' news for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds was teased yesterday, we finally know what the big news is!
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is set to release on the Xbox One via Xbox Game Preview (making it an early access title) on December 12th. The game will feature HDR enhancements for the Xbox One X, with 4K support coming later on in the future.
The game will not feature the desert map, however, it will feature vaulting. The desert map will not be available mostly due to the fact it requires more polishing. The third-person version will be available at the start and first-person will come later on (like the desert map).
"Both versions are being developed at the same time, but they both have their own separate roadmaps. Various Xbox One features and functionality will change and come online over time just like they have on PC, with our goal being to have both versions align to each other as soon as possible. Feedback, as you know, has been critical to the game’s success, so beginning December 12 we want to hear from Xbox fans on what they think aboutPUBG and how we can make the best version of the game possible."
The game will be $29.99 on Xbox One and will not feature in-game purchases save for three Xbox exclusive packs, Warrior Pack, Accessory Pack and Tracksuit Pack, which will be available for a limited time.
