Over the last few weeks, the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood is becoming much more known due to countless brave people speaking out against famous people who have behaved inappropriately. One of these people is director and producer Brett Ratner, the owner of RatPac-Dune Entertainment, you've probably seen their logo slapped on tons of Warner Bros. movies like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and the upcoming Justice League among countless other pictures.
With new allegations surfacing, Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, is reportedly taking a stand against one of the biggest names in Hollywood by telling WB that she won't return for the already announced Wonder Woman sequel unless Ratner is removed from the production of Wonder Woman 2 and the DC franchise.
Page Six claims that an insider stated that Gal Gadot is not fond of Ratner in any way shape or form, she even backed out of a dinner where she was supposed to present an award to him.
“Brett made a lot of money from the success of ‘Wonder Woman,’ thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie. Now, Gadot is saying she won’t sign on for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.”
“She’s tough and stands by her principles. She also knows the best way to hit people like Brett Ratner is in the wallet. She also knows that Warner Bros. has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can’t have a movie rooted in women’s empowerment being part-financed by a man accused of sexual misconduct against women.”
Gadot has a lot of power here, she is the star of the only DC movie that has been critically acclaimed and it cleaned house at the box office. She was only given a contract for three films when she signed on which has been fulfilled now that she has starred in Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, and Justice League. Given that she is a major pull to get people in seats and is now one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, it's likely Warner Bros will side with Gadot on this topic. Not only that but it would make WB look even better by not allowing someone like Ratner make any more money.
Warner Brothers denied these claims to Page Six but time will tell, it wouldn't be surprising if Gadot gets asked about this subject in any upcoming interviews on the Justice League press tour.
