Sea of Thieves remains the Xbox One's most intriguing game on the horizon and with its weekly Technical Alpha play sessions still ongoing, its fair to wonder when Rare thinks they will be able to move forward. We could potentially find out on Thursday during The Game Awards as Xbox's Marketing GM Aaron Greenberg revealed that the game would have a presence during the awards show.
Speaking during Xbox's Extra Life marathon on Mixer (via DualShockers), Greenberg said he "definitely encourages people to tune-in for The Game Awards" for "some more news on Sea of Thieves there."
Given that the game is in a playable state for select gamers, one would expect that at the very least, an announcement on the move to Beta would be the "news" in question. Though given that the game is supposed to arrive in early 2018, it's not out of the realm of possibility that a release date reveal is forthcoming.
We'll find out in just five days as The Game Awards streams live on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at 8:30 PM EST.
