Star Wars: The Last Jedi secrets and connections to Battlefront II discussed in new video

Did you catch every detail?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi, regardless of how you feel about it, was undoubtedly packed with references and little details with larger meanings. It’s a staple for big-budget film franchises to leverage these references to keep the conversations going long after the credits roll, and the latest episode of The Star Wars show sits down to discuss them, as well as a connection to DICE’s Battlefront II.

The primary connection between The Last Jedi and Battlefront II is a compass that makes a brief appearance among Luke’s belongings on Ahch To, which is the same one that he finds during the campaign of Battlefront II. Matt Martin reveals that the compass was added in towards the end as Dave Filoni, the director of The Clone Wars TV Show was asked to sketch out the design for the compass.

“Dave sketched it, passed it to the prop department, and they knocked it out in, like, a night,” he said. Lucasfilm Story Group’s Leland Chee also jokingly added that the compass “may or may not be the device that gets him to Ahch-To.”

As far as the film goes, one of the big discussions in the video surrounds the dice that were hanging in the Millenium Falcon. While it seemed odd that such a detail would have been left out of The Force Awakens, it turns out that there was an instance of Han Solo hanging them back up once he re-takes possession of his ship. It just turned out that J.J. Abrams had the shot taken out during editing.

Talk about a missed opportunity.

In any case, there’s a lot here for Star Wars fans to dive into, so definitely check it out.
