E3 2018: Bethesda reveals Starfield, Next-Generation Space RPG

A new future is ahead

Bethesda talked about many games today. Some releasing right now, some soon and some not at all soon. Long rumored Starfield was announced today by Tod Howard, right as Bethesda’s E3 show was coming to an end.

Little is known at this point about Starfield but today we got an announcement teaser. Not a whole lot was shown in it sadly, but as the name implies, space is going to play a part in it. Todd Howard stood on stage and announced Starfield as Bethesda’s “first wholly original franchise in 25 years” and continued to describe Starfield as a next-generation single-player experience in an all new epic franchise.

These are really big statements for game of which is so little known as of yet. But by Todd Howard’s speech it is clear that Bethesda is putting a lot of effort into their futuristic, space-themed RPG and are expecting nothing less than the birth of a new juggernaut of a franchise in the likes of a Fallout or Elder Scrolls.

This alone is enough to get us excited because when Bethesda talks big, they usually deliver bigger. The mention of “next generation” naturally makes us think whether Starfield is even planned for the current generation of consoles or if that remark was only hinting at the ambition the developer is having. We will see in the hopefully not so distant future.

Stay tuned and check out the announcement teaser for Starfield!
