Wadjet Eye Games, creators and saviors of classical Point & Click games have announced their newest title Unavowed. The pixel-art adventure game with supernatural themes is planned to come out this August 8th on PC and MAC via Steam. Check out the trailer!
Wadjet Eye Games, the small independent games studio from New York, has unveiled their newest project Unavowed. The launch trailer sets up the world of the traditional 2D adventure game nicely, with a trademark gorgeous old-school pixel-art and great voice acting. In Unavowed, players will find themselves a survivor of a demonic possession and struggling with the aftermath of heinous deeds committed during it.
What has been shown so far, paints a moody big city with a parallel world existing behind the veil of normalcy. Demons, rituals, secret societies tease a big adventure. Unavowed will take place one year after the protagonist suffered a demonic possession and caused all kinds of terror throughout New York. It will be up to the player to solve the mysteries behind that incident and bring peace to the city and avert maybe even more.
Unavowed aims to enhance the well-known formula of Point & Click adventures of yesteryear by giving the player the option to choose from an either male or female hero, three playable origin stories and a total of four companions to choose from, each with their own talents and abilities. If that doesn’t sound like an adventure worth playing more than once, players will also be able to enjoy a branching storyline.
Wadjet Eye Games has become a beacon of quality and newfound nostalgia ever since their first game The Shivah in 2006. Fans who missed the glory days of Lucas Arts’ adventure games in the 90s and genre fans of recent generations have been enjoying the steady output of quality adventure games, with modern must-have pixel-art 2D adventure titles like the Blackwell series. The studio also expanded into a publishing role for other, similar games like Technobabylon and Resonance. A passionate group who helps, keep a genre alive.
