Now you can literally go ape-shit in Blackout

Activision has shared details about the new season for the popular new Call of Duty outing Black Ops 4. Operation Grand Heist is going live today, first on the PlayStation 4, and brings lots of new content with it. Check out the trailer!

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is continuing its winning ways with the start of a new season. Dubbed Operation Grand Heist, an extensive suite of new game content is arriving today for gamers to enjoy. PlayStation 4 gamers get a whole 7 days of exclusive playtime in advance before Operation Grand Heist launches on the Xbox One and PC.

Outrider is the newest Specialist character entering the fray whose Sparrow bow should make for good hunting on the battlefield, alongside her pilotable drone Hawk. We also see the return of the multiplayer game mode One in the Chamber which pits players into a high-stakes battle with only one bullet in their guns. Score a perfect kill to receive another bullet and score points. Lastly, three new weapons are introduced into multiplayer.

  • The Switchblade X9, a new folding SMG
  • The full-auto Rampage shotgun
  • The Cha-Ching! money bag melee weapon

For Blackout players, a new Western-themed destination dubbed Ghost Town is offering two new locations with Outlaw & Buried. Inspired by series-favorite map Standoff and the zombies mode. With the new game Hot Pursuit and three new vehicles, fans of vehicular action also get their fair share of content.

And finally for the Zombies mode, a new gauntlet will test players’ skills with Death-Con Five. A Pentagon-themed map. Later on the season, Hellcatraz will follow as another new gauntlet. As the name implies, it’s set on the cult prison island Alcatraz.

Owners of the Black Ops Pass can further look forward to a new playable character and two new multiplayer maps. Lockup is a Los Angeles police station and Casino takes you to the extravagant world of gambling in Monaco. The Cosmic Silverback from the Dead Ops Arcade will be available for use in Blackout.
