Take me home, country roads

A brand-new trailer for the ambitious Fallout 4 mod called Capital Wasteland is out. The impressive video gives a nice early glimpse at the total conversion modification for Fallout 4 which aims to bring the entirety of Fallout 3 into the most recent singleplayer wasteland installment. Check it out!

Fans of the nuclear post-apocalyptic RPG franchise are having a rough time lately. With the most recent game in the series, Fallout 76, falling way behind fan expectations, the best thing to do is hope for a timely release of the next main-line Fallout game. It sounded so good on paper though. Finally a way for fans of the unique Fallout gameplay experience to venture into a vast open world, explore ruined cities and uncover dangerous mysteries of a world in shambles. Fallout fans have long been yearning for a multiplayer portion to make an appearance but the final result with Fallout 76 didn’t really fulfill their hopes. A lackluster gameplay loop, paired with a plethora of bugs led to the multiplayer spin-off being mostly forgotten.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel for Fallout fans in form of a massive community undertaking. Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland is the total conversion mod for Fallout 4 whose goal is to bring the entirety of Fallout 3 into Fallout 4. This means, all areas, enemies, NPCs, quests, weapons and more. Now, we get to se a new look of the impressive undertaking in a new trailer.

Bethesda’s two major RPG series, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, have long established themselves as a goldmine for the modding scene, but a total conversion is still a tall order for a voluntary-driven effort nonetheless. Details about the release window for Capital Wasteland are naturally not to be found, but that is to be expected. But from what we’ve seen so far, things are looking very promising.
