Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore coming to Switch on January 17th

It truly deserves a second chance

One of the highlights during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was the announcement of a remaster of one of the best JRPGs on the Wii U. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is an enhanced version of the original and will come out on January 17, 2020 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Watch the trailer below!

Nintendo’s ill-fated Wii U was a disaster of a console, but that really didn’t come because of a weak game line-up. Quite the contrary. The system is home to some of the best Nintendo games ever created. As such, it’s a real shame that millions of gamers didn’t get to experience these games. With the Switch, Nintendo came back swinging in a big way and once again conquered the handheld market while also getting a strong foothold in living rooms, thanks to its ingenious hybrid design.

The worlds of the Fire Emblem series and Atlus games have crossed paths again and the result is coming to the Nintendo Switch system. An inter-dimensional evil has invaded modern-day Tokyo, resulting in this fantastical barrage of music, style, and yes, danger. So, fight back! Battle through dungeons to pump up your strategy and creatively decimate your foes… before all hope fades to black.

Thanks to the Switch’s success, Nintendo is now bringing lots of Wii U games over to their new system. The newest Nintendo Direct is proof of that in probably the biggest way yet. One of these Wii U-to-Switch ports is Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. The self-proclaimed mix between Fire Emblem and Atlus is a remarkable game, and we fell in love with the original which you can read in more detail in our original review here.

The Switch remaster will also include a never-before released song,  new story elements and of course the always-welcome ability to play it on the go.
