Call of Duty is making some huge leaps for the series with Modern Warfare. We’re getting cross-play, no paid DLC/season pass, and in a shocking turn of events, cross-platform progression.
Today, the second weekend of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare beta began and players have noticed new features. On top of being able to play with players on other platforms, players who played on PS4 last weekend and are now trying on Xbox One or PC noticed all of their progress carried over. This includes rank, stats, and unlocks.
Up until this point, Infinity Ward has remained mute on the topic of cross-platform progression but now it’s seemingly confirmed. They may be just testing it and things could change before launch but for now, it seems like Infinity Ward wants it in Modern Warfare.
If you want to try it yourself, just make sure your platform profiles are linked with your Call of Duty account and you should see your progress carry over. You’ll notice that your name in-game may not be your Xbox/PSN username as the game displays your Call of Duty account for cross-play purposes.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. We loved what we played of the multiplayer last weekend and you can read our impressions by clicking here.
