Bad news for gamers who have been looking forward to playing Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers. Both games have been delayed with FFVIR now coming out on April 10th while the Avengers game will take much longer with a projected release date of September 4th.
While the release of both games has been highly anticipated by gamers worldwide, Marvel’s Avengers stings a lot more. Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal originally planned to release the game this May 15, marking the delay a whole four months of extra delay. In a developer post on their website, Scot Amos and Ron Rosenberg of Crystal Dynamics explained the difficult decision with needing extra time to deliver the best possible game that fans deserve.
As fans ourselves, it’s an honor and a privilege to work with these legendary characters and we know what these Super Heroes mean to us and True Believers around the world. When we set out to bring you our vision for Marvel’s Avengers, we committed to delivering an original story-driven campaign, engaging co-op, and compelling content for years to come. To that end, we will spend this additional development time focusing on fine tuning and polishing the game to the high standards our fans expect and deserve. ~Crystal Dynamics
The delay of Final Fantasy VII Remake seems comparably much easier to stomach as it’s only one month of extra waiting. Still, if you have waited already five years, the extra month might hurt a little. Producer Yoshinori Kitase likewise shared the news and reasoning behind the delay on the game’s website. To no one’s surprise, it’s also to polish and improve one of the most-awaited games of the generation.
We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020. ~Yoshinori Kitase
