Hitman 3 developers talk story, additions, and more in newest trailer

The World of Assassination comes to an end.

There were a lot of surprises at last month’s PlayStation 5 event but one no one saw coming was the reveal of Hitman 3. IO Interactive has finally revealed their newest entry in the stealth/espionage series and it’ll be the conclusion to this trilogy they’ve been building.

Today, IO Interactive released a new trailer for Hitman 3 where a variety of team members speak about their ambitions for the third game in this rebooted series. They address things like how they’re pushing the consoles to their limits with their AI, the darker story, the ability to publish independently, and much more.

“Hitman 3 is sort of like our endgame,” said Communications Manager, Travis Barbour. “This is where everything comes together. This is where something you didn’t realize meant something in Hitman 1 or 2, come to the forefront. Having those holy shit moments where we flip something on you and make something happen that you were not expecting and keep moving on to the next thing… until you have that moment, that’s it.”

We highly recommend taking a look at the new trailer below.

It’s also noted that players will be able to carry over weapons and other progression from Hitman 2. Anything you earned in 2 will be in Hitman 3, allowing you to have a lot of tools right out of the gate. This is on top of the fact all levels from the first two games will be playable in the third game as well.

Hitman 3 will release in January 2021 for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC.
