Wasteland 3 shows jolly post-apocalyptic Co-Op in new trailer

Everything is more fun with a friend. Even the end of the world.

InXile Entertainment has released a new trailer for their upcoming RPG Wasteland 3. This time the focus is on the Co-Op mode that lets you play the campaign together with a friend. Watch it here!

In exactly one week, on August 28th, the third installment of the popular post-apocalyptic turn-based  RPG franchise Wasteland will be launching on PC and Xbox One. InXile Entertainment has managed to revive the long-dormant IP in 2015.

Now, at the tail-end of the generation, we are close to Wasteland 3 which is looking to become one of the best entries in the genre. Not only did the reboot show that there is enough interest for both the old IP and niche genre but with the backing of Microsoft who acquired InXile a couple of years ago signs are pointing towards Wasteland 3 offering a no-compromise full vision.

In Wasteland 3’s co-op you can work with a partner to strategize in tactical combat, make decisions on how to navigate the gangs, factions, and cults of Colorado, and how to divvy up their loot. There are also unique moments in the game that can only be pulled off in co-op, like turning in a quest to two rival NPCs at the same time for double the reward. While it’s not a PvP game, there are also unique opportunities to mess with your friend, like spreading rumors about them at your home base.

While losing yourself in a fantasy of surviving the end days of a destroyed world is undoubtedly a big draw of it, the inclusion of online Co-Op will surely tickle the fancies of many a player. Up to 2 players can go about the harsh wasteland and tackle foes with an added layer of strategy by synergizing attacks and tactics. Unfortunately, there is no cross-play support between platforms, so you better take care to buy the game on the same platform as your friends.

Wasteland 3 comes out next Friday for PC & Xbox One and will be playable for free to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass.
