A new Vampire: The Masquerade is in the works. The project has no name but fans can look forward for a battle royale spin-off in the popular tabletop franchise. Watch the CG teaser trailer for it below!
Unexpected news for fans of Vampire: The Masquerade. The development of the Bloodlines 2 experienced quite the turmoil. First, the developer cut ties with writer Chris Avellone after allegations of abuse surfaced. Then the game got delayed to 2021. Not really good signs that the development of Bloodlines 2 is going well.
Now, out of nowhere, we learn that a battle royale multiplayer game set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe is also happening. To be honest, the franchise is more known and beloved for its single-player RPG prowess rather than action gameplay.
Choose your playstyle, go solo or together, battling rivals and the hostile Entity who’s hellbent on exterminating all vampires. Use your supernatural powers, weapons and blood to become stronger in order to hunt, fight and survive the night.
As such, it’ll be interesting to see what the Swedish developer Sharkmob has in store for the yet untitled battle royale game. There is very little information about the game at this point, and the CG announcement teaser also is thin on details.
Furthermore, there’s no word about pricing. Most battle royale games – especially the popular ones – are Free-to-Play after all. As such, we wouldn’t be shocked to see the Vampire: The Masquerade battle royale game being F2P as well.
Unsurprisingly, the community reception for the battle royale spin-off isn’t that great. The announcement video on YouTube has a majority of downvotes. Not a good sign for a game that’s vying for a spot in the coveted battle royale space.
The battle royale game’s planned release is the second half of 2021.
