Riot Games shared the release date and platforms for Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. The singleplayer spin-off RPG will launch in early 2021 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Check out the new trailer below!
Pretty much one year ago, Riot Games opened up about its plans to expand its popular MOBA League of Legends. The company’s strategy is to broaden the appeal of the vast LoL universe by creating lots of spin-offs in other game genres.
However, outside developers will create these new games. Ruined King is one of them. Above all, it’s the first pure singleplayer LoL experience. The RPG game offers turn-based combat that will surely come in handy to explore new attacks and strategies.
Furthermore, as a pure singleplayer game, Ruined King ought to automatically garner the interest of a large number of gamers who simply aren’t interested in the multiplayer nature of League of Legends.
Unite a party of League of Legends Champions, explore Bilgewater and set sail for the Shadow Isles to uncover the secrets of the deadly Black Mist.
Airship Syndicate of Darksiders Genesis fame is the studio behind Ruined King. As such, there’s a talented developer on the helm. Six champion characters from the large roster of League of Legends will be in the game. It’s going to be interesting to play as them in a whole new way. You can learn more about each champion on the game’s website.
Last but not least, we also receive confirmation that Ruined King comes out on pretty much every platform. Whether it’s Nintendo’s Switch or current-gen consoles. No one is left behind. Of course, next-gen consoles and PC also gets the title.
Fascinating times ahead for the League of Legends world. Ruined King is the first singleplayer game and hopefully a great starting point.
