Experience how everythig started

At long last, a new generation of gaming starts today. And with it, we also get an outstanding launch title. FromSoftware’s seminal Demon’s Souls remake is out today for the PS5. Enjoy the launch trailer below!

2020 is already a year to remember. A new presidential election, a global pandemic, and the start of next-gen gaming. Of course, one is not like the others. But for millions of people who are home-bound, gaming has become an invaluable outlet to relieve stress.

After Tuesday’s Xbox Series X|S launch, it’s Sony’s turn today with the launch of the PlayStation 5. While the new game system launches today only in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, it’s still a festive occasion. The rest of the world will have to wait until next week, November 19th.

As is with new consoles, it’s really about wowing gamers with impressive launch titles. No matter what your opinions on the hardware itself are, in terms of launch games, Sony is dominating the competition. Not one but two major next-gen games are waiting to be explored by early adopters.

Besides Spider-Man Miles Morales, the Demon’s Souls remake is Sony’s big launch game. Unlike the former, Demon’s Souls is fully exclusive to the PS5. Meaning, if you want to experience the very first Souls game ever, you’ll have to get a PlayStation 5.

And it’s a great reason to do so. Demon’s Souls still remains a niche cult classic, since the Souls franchise really only took off after the series went multiplatform with the first Dark Souls. As such, chances are you haven’t played the original Souls game.

Bluepoint Games has done a tremendous job with it. The studio stayed very close to the original while improving so much. Chief among, visuals. The option to experience the game in dynamic 4K at 60fps is just the cherry on top.

While it’s a fairly challenging game, the developer put out a handy guide to stay alive and survive the gauntlet.
