2020 is a tough year for everyone. That also goes for the gaming industry. Countless game delays and cancelled events are proof of that. As such, it’s always nice to see events still take place. Albeit, in a digital matter.

That is the case for this year’s The Game Awards. Geoff Keighley’s annual celebration of the year’s best games, esports, and everything gaming established itself as a highlight event. In the past years, many developers and publishers chose the venue for game reveals, as well.

Hence, why most eyes will be on The Game Awards 2020. But of course, the awards are center and spotlight. Now, less than a month before the show, the nominees are out. But don’t just ogle at them, vote for your favorite!

Spread across a whopping 30 categories, TGAs 2020 covers a wide spectrum of the gaming industry. From the games themselves to its creators, but also esports and content creators.

But naturally, it’s one category that’s the most prestigious. Game of the Year. And what a year it has been. A lot of mindshare went to the global pandemic of course and then there was the presidential election as well. So, it’s only understandable if you outright forgot about the games of 2020.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, Hades, and The Last of Us Part II are competing for the title. It’s great to see an indie game but our bets are on a Sony exclusive. There are literally three of them among them.

The Game Awards 2020 takes place on December 10th, where you can watch it live on over 45 streaming services.
