Unfortunately, a big Resident Evil 8 leak has occurred and it’s not a good one. The entire plot of the game is out there and we still don’t know when the game’s going to release.
This all follows after a ransomware attack on Capcom leading to tons of data on all kinds of projects being held hostage. Someone got a hold of a development build for Resident Evil 8 and began leaking screenshots. These screenshots include unannounced enemy types, the ending, and more spoilers. It’s a dangerous amount of information to be floating around.
We highly advise being aware of where you visit on the internet. As of right now, Resident Evil 8 will release in 2021 but the exact date is unknown. We won’t be publishing the Resident Evil 8 leaks ourselves but they’re definitely out there.
This isn’t the first game to have a big, substantial leak in recent memory. Earlier this year, The Last of Us Part II had some of its biggest story moments leaked online with video months before release. Sony was able to determine that the leak came from a security breach and not an internal leak. This caused a lot of early anger from some gamers who expressed disappointment in story choices from Naughty Dog.
Resident Evil 8 is shaping up to be something pretty special, though. The game will be a direct sequel to 7 with the return of Ethan Winters, recovering from the events of the previous game with his wife Mia. Chris Redfield will also make a return, though he seems to be a bit of an antagonist from the reveal trailer.
Resident Evil 8 will release on Xbox Series X, PS5, and PC. Capcom is considering a last-gen version as well but has yet to confirm anything. We’ll keep you posted if this story develops any further.
