Majesco has announced today that they will be bring an iteration of the Black and White series to the Nintendo DS. Rather than a direct port, Black and White Creatures will be a spin off on the series, taking the form of a traditional single player experience, as well as implementing several previously unused modes of play. The DS version of the title will utilize the wi-fi features of the system by allowing gamers to engage in a sort of creature battle between other users. As of now, it has yet to be announced as to if the game will require multiple cartridges or not. In addition to the multiplayer, gamers can expect to Creature Quest, and Creature Pen option. Unfortunately, the company has yet to provide information regarding these two options.
Fans of the series can expect the game to utilize the touch screen features of the DS to control their god like creature. The second screen of the portable will also allow the player to train or discipline their creature, and will also offer speech recognition via the built in microphone.
For those unfamiliar with the PC hit, the main draw of the title will come in the form of creating an all powerful, god like, creature. The player’s creation will then interact with the inhabitants of the region in an open ended play mode. Gamers can expect to have freedom of control over their characters interactions with the people of the various islands. Majesco plans on shipping the game during the first quarter of 2006.
