An Animal Crossing: Wild World: Glitch

4 Color Rebellion has recently reported a serious glitch pertaining to the popular Nintendo DS title, Animal Crossing: Wild World. A letter sent from Nintendo holding a present called “Red Tulips”.

Original News Post

Users of the popular online enabled title are strongly discouraged from opening the letter with a header Name :” _blank_ “, marked simply as “From” . The bundled item, while called a flower actually shows up as a piece of furniture, a green leaf in your inventory, and is reportedly very dangerous. By placing the item inside your house, the game drops an invisible item. While it does not sound like much as you can walk over it, reports have indicated that it becomes impossible to place an additional piece of furniture on top of it, or even push an item already placed inside your house over it.

The apparent “gift” does not stop there either. Sources indicate that by placing the item outside of your home will result in the game automatically planting a tree sprout. Again, while this does not seem like much of a problem, the game ignores the standard rules for planting trees or flowers and allows you to drop the item over concrete, bridges, or on the beach.

A reader from the online publication which broke the story has contacted Nintendo for advice regarding the enigmatic gift. Check out the response he received below.

I called customer service and the representative said that the Red Tulip thing was not a glitch, but an unfinished letter that was accidentally sent out. They’re working on a fix for people that accidentally put it in their homes

So, as a point of caution, avoid opening the letter until further notice. We’ll keep you updated on any further details pertaining to this story.
