Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will be available next year for the PlayStation 3 (complete with motion control) and the Xbox 360 (who will hopefully get something else nice on the side). Among other changes and additions are two new costumes for Mr. Chris Redfield and Ms. Sheva Alomar, which deck them out in Warrior and Folklore attire, respectively.
To join that announcement, Capcom has released two new trailers to show off their fanciful new duds. First up is Chris, who hits the ring hard and fast as the tassels trail behind him and he shakes the ropes with all his might– wait, what?

Chris (warrior) and Sheva (folklore) are the first two out of eight new characters revealed as playable in THE MERCINARIES REUNION. Each with their own unique weapon load-outs, these new characters provide additional challenges as the player aims to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time. Chain together your kills, extend your time and rack up points. Featuring the most extreme weapon selections, THE MERCINARIES REUNION mode provides hours of new strategy induced kill sprees.
Unless “MERCINARIES” is some sort of in-game slang or term, I hope that they fix the spelling before it’s released.
And speaking of the release, it looks like owners of the original Resident Evil 5 are in for a treat. It appears that the downloadable content which will be included on the Gold Edition discs will be made available before the retail copies hit stores. How’s that for loyalty to the customer?
