Konami Says “Wii Suck” with Scene It? Twilight

Guys, you know Twilight. That thing your little sister is obsessed with and is plastered all over the tabloid covers in the checkout line? It’s bigger than Jesus Christ at this point (irony?), so there’s no surprise that eventually it would make the leap to videogames.

However, the game’s exact form is rather surprising: Scene It? Twilight, coming to the Wii and Nintendo DS from Konami, is a new version of the popular board game franchise, all about the first film starring those oh-so-cute sparkly vampires.

“Konami is always looking to engage people in new means of interactive gaming experiences. The TWILIGHT film has an incredibly popular following who crave content and new media well after the movies are no longer in theaters,” said Kazumi Kitaue, Chairman and President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “With extensive content from the film, Scene It? Twilight will bring life to the excitement and energy surrounding the popular film in an all-new way.”

The game features over 500 trivia questions, along with flim clips, sound bytes, and images from the film, and features single- and multiplayer modes. The game also features Wii Remote functionality for buzzing in and a new user interface, which should be tons of fun to fans of both Team Edward and Team Jacob. And no, I have no idea what that means.

The game is set for release for the Wii this fall, with the DS version hitting stores in early 2010.
