A good number of gamers will agree that the recent Tony Hawk games, especially the Wii titles, were sub-par gameplay and graphics-wise. The games felt a bit insipid and repetitive, despite attempts to spice up the series with new elements and features.
It seems, though, that with Tony Hawk: Ride, gamers will be given the opportunity to traverse the game with their Miis on the motion controlled “skateboard” that launches with the title.
“One of the big wins for us is that you can skate as your Miis,” said Yale Miller, Tony Hawk: Ride’s producer. “We kept asking to get this feature in, and Nintendo liked what they saw.”
But, with the avatar customization now available on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, can we expect to be able to skateboard with those as well? Developer Buzz Monkey Software hasn’t confirmed that avatar support will be specific to the Wii version, but at least we know that players will be able to bring their Miis into the action.
