World of Warcraft Monopoly, StarCraft Risk announced

The new rule should be: if it exists, there's a Monopoly game of it.  As is proved with Blizzard's latest announcement that they will be teaming with Hasbro's USAopoly to release World of Warcraft Monopoly and StarCraft Risk.

World of Warcraft Monopoly

They pretty much have everything-else Monopoly, so it's about time World of Warcraft was added to the mix.  The new version will feature custom graphics from the WoW artists and designers as well as the iconic locations from the game including highly coveted real estate such as Twilight Highlands, Grizzly Hills, and the Swamp of Sorrows.  The game retails for $39.95 and will be available in May at specialty stores across North America.

Fans can vote on the final player pieces to make it into the game.  The 10 options include Murky, Chen's Keg, Mechagnome, and a Spellbook.  The six most popular pieces will be included in the game at launch.  Of course, knowing Blizzard, there will be an expansion a few months later.

StarCraft Risk

StarCraft Risk is more up my ally.  As a long-time Risk and StarCraft fan, I can't help but think this is a perfect combination.  The StarCraft universe and Real-time strategy gameplay already lends itself to be a perfect compliment for Risk, as they adapt an already great game into a classic tabletop RTS.  In StarCraft Risk you will choose from the terran, protoss, or zerg factions and six unique heroes.  It will include three different play modes and over 290 custom playing pieces.  StarCraft Risk launches this summer and will be available in specialty stores throughout North America for $49.95.
