Namco Bandai announced today that SoulCalibur V will receive a worldwide free title update for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 21, 2012.
The title update will contain new online ranked game search optimization, gameplay tweaks, and character balance adjustments for the entire roster based on player feedback.
Following the title update, Namco will release monthly DLC costume packs for use in the fighting game's Creation Mode. The first costume pack is due out on April 3rd for Xbox 360 and on April 4th for PlayStation 3.
Meanwhile, Namco also announced they will be holding the SoulCalibur V Worldwide Finals on April 10, 2012 at the Cosmopolitan hotel and casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament will bring together the best SoulCalibur V players from around the world to compete for a cash prize pool of $10,000.
The SoulCalibur Impact 2012 Grand Finals, taking place Saturday, March 17th (livestream available), will determine which of the best players from Europe, Russia, Australia, Taiwan and Singapore will earn a place in the Las Vegas Worldwide Finals.
The winner of the Impact 2012, in addition to earning a spot in the Worldwide Finals, will also receive £1,000 and a unique trophy: an authentic Soul Edge sword replica especially forged for the occasion. Two winners will be flown to Las Vegas to compete in the Finals.
