Open Road Films has set a date for the second film in the Silent Hill franchise, Revelation 3D … not to be confused with Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3DS, if you tend to lose track of your horror. The movie is arriving in theaters on October 26.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D focuses on Heather Mason, adopted daughter of Harry Mason (protagonist of the first game) and the only female lead in the video game series. The movie keeps close to the events of Silent Hill 3, at least in basic premise: Heather (Adelaide Clemens) is turning 18, and instead of the usual birthday celebrations, she's tormented by nightmares and her father vanishes. She soon discovers a darker side to her identity.
Actors Radha Mitchell (character Rose Da Silva), Sean Bean (Christopher Da Silva instead of Harry Mason), and Deborah Kara Unger (Dahlia Gillespie) return to fill their roles from the first film, which hit theaters in 2006. Kit Harington (Game of Thrones), Carrie-Anne Moss (Disturbia), and Malcolm McDowell (The Artist) join the cast as Vincent Carter, Claudia Wolf, and Leonard Wolf, respectively.
Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch) is listed as director.
