Microsoft reimbursing certain Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition owners

Believe it or not, there are a substantial amount of folks who do not own a HD TV, and because of that, they've been unable to play Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition's split-screen mode. The real problem, you ask? Microsoft forgot to list that specific requirement on the game's product page. Thankfully, Microsoft has released a statement saying they're issuing refunds to those who purchased the hit arcade title before the publisher corrected the listing.

As you can imagine, Microsoft was quickly bombarded with emails from angry non-HD TV owners who were unable to play Minecraft's split-screen mode. “We [then] updated our pre-sale notification to inform customers that an HD screen is required for the split-screen multiplayer feature on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. If a player does not have an HD screen and purchased this game prior to the notification update, they are eligible for a full refund through customer support," a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement sent to Game Informer.

If you've yet to hear, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been a hit, selling over a million units in just a week. Everyone here at GameZone has fallen in love once again with the witty, 3D "block party," so trust us when we say it's worth the 1600 MSP.
