PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will support arcade fight sticks

Sony's upcoming mascot brawler, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, will support arcade fight sticks, developer Superbot Entertainment confirmed today.

In an announcement on Facebook, the developer announced PlayStation All-Stars will include controller configuration that will support the sticks and that every attack, combo, and strategy that can be performed on the DualShock 3 controller is "seamlessly mapped to arcade button layouts".

Nearly all of the DualShock 3 controller commands are assigned to the same buttons on an arcade fight stick by default. The joystick will control the character's movement and combines with the Square, Triangle, and Circle buttons to perform all of the 24 unique attacks.

"In fact, joystick inputs behave exactly the same as DualShock 3 D-pad inputs would, so arcade stick functionality is natively supported in PlayStation All-Stars," SuperBot detailed.

The only exception, however, is the throw command. With the arcade stick, throws are performed with an easy button combination, similar to other traditional fighter games, while on the DualShock you use the Right Stick.

"Whether you prefer using a PlayStation gamepad or an arcade stick controller, we're committed to making sure you get the most out of the Battle Royale experience!" SuperBot concluded. "October 23 is right around the corner. Are you ready for your ultimate match-up?"
