Growing up, I loved the movie Aliens. I mean loved it. Marines vs. aliens and queen alien vs. power loader are classics. While Aliens themed Halloween costumes may not be all that original, YouTube user Jason Smith went above and beyond for this two person masterpiece.
This power loader is a two person operation. The father is hidden in the power loader itself while his baby daughter is the driver. Genius? I think so. In all my days of two people costumes, this takes the cake. It certainly beats the two-man horse.
Smith wrote, “My highest priority was keeping my little girl safe, so the costume was designed for mobility and quick exit in case of emergency. The boots are basically cardboard slippers that could pop right off. With a shrug of my shoulders, I could pop the arms right off. What you can't see from the video is that there are no bottoms on the robot arms, so my human arms were completely free and unimpeded. I could leave the claws hanging idle from the shoulder joints while I could address any of my girl's needs. I would have had to take the suit off to changer her diaper, though!”
If that’s not thoughtful parenting, I don’t know what is. Check out the video below and be sad that your Halloween costume wasn’t as creative… well at least that’s where I stand.
