Deep Silver today revealed new screenshots and details for the fifth character and one of its locations in Dead Island Riptide, the next installment in the Dead Island series.
The new location is the town of Henderson, situated on the island of Palanai. You can see screenshots of this once-gorgeous, now blood-filled setting above, while the description is below.
Palanai caters to ultra-wealthy yacht owners and eco-tourists looking to stay nearby to the island’s untouched jungle. Palanai’s center is the luxurious town of Henderson that has grown into a Mediterranean-looking port town.
After a monsoon has laid waste the Banoi archipelago the city lies partially flooded and its abandoned buildings are quickly falling into disrepair. The team of heroes will have to find high ground in order to steer clear of the waters, where unknown threats lurk beneath the deceptively calm surface.
Meanwhile, Deep Silver also introduced John Morgan, the new, fifth playable character in Dead Island Riptide equipped with an all-new and unique skillset.
For years he has trained himself – and become a master – in hand-to-hand combat. His career in the US Navy has not taken off as he originally had envisioned, so he spends his time as a cook on a military ship. Little does he know that soon he will have to bring his skills into practice when the ship nears the island of Palanai…
Dead Island Riptide picks up where the last title left off. Having survived the first zombie infestation on the island resort of Banoi, the group of survivors land on a military ship, only to encounter a furious storm that leaves them struggling for their lives once again. With the monsoon having laid waste to the island of Palanai, the group of survivors must not only survive the undead, but dynamic weather conditions as well.
Dead Island Riptide is set to release on April 23, 2013 in the United States and on April 26, 2013 in European countries for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
