Microsoft's Larry Hryb ("Major Nelson") has responded to the rumors that Xbox-based games were coming to iOS and Android. It's just Age of Empires.
"Some reports included incorrect information about additional Xbox based games on iOS and Android, but there are no further announcements beyond Age of Empires at this time," Hryb wrote on his blog.
KLab America announced that it's developing a mobile version of Microsoft Studio's Age of Empires historical real-time strategy game franchise. KLab's fantasy-card-battle game Lord of the Dragons has gone global and reached the top-10-grossing charts in Japan and the U.S. back in March.
“I am honored we have the opportunity to create and offer a mobile game version of Microsoft Studio’s Age of Empires franchise," said Tetsuya Sanada, the chief executive officer of KLab, in a press statement. "We look forward to contributing our knowledge in social mobile gaming as well as our experience in the Japanese market."
Age of Empires has been ongoing for 15 years and is one of the highest-selling PC franchises, pushing more than 22 million copies worldwide.
