Neverwinter’s first expansion arrives this August

Neverwinter officially launched on PC last month after spending time in beta, and now developer Cryptic Studios and publisher Perfect World Entertainment are ready to introduce the game's first content expansion.

Fury of the Feywild will be available on August 22 at no cost. The module takes players to the enchanted woods of Sharandar, where they can play as Sun and Moon Elves. The Fomorian Giants are attempting to seize the Elven outpost there.

With the expansion, players can finally opt to pay Astral Diamonds to increase the quality of their companions. It also introduces two new professions and a 3D drag-and-drop update to the Foundry Editor.

"Fury of the Feywild is the first of many modules to come in Neverwinter," said Cryptic chief executive officer Jack Emmert in a press statement.

The free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game is set in the fantasy universe of the Forgotten Realms, a campaign setting in Dungeons & Dragons.

Today Perfect World also detailed the Knight of the Feywild and Feywild Starter adventurer packs, which cost $60 and $20, respectively. More information is available on the Neverwinter website.
