We already have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows releasing this summer, but Activision has announced another new video game inspired by these heroes in a half shell. The new game is simply titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and is based on the Nickelodeon CG-animated series. Technically, so is Out of the Shadows (though it has a bit of inspiration from the original comics as well), but the new TMNT game is a "side-scrolling action-brawler." It features an "authentic storyline" and "loads of combat and animated scenes." Character upgrades, secondary items, and multiple gameplay modes are also included.
Sounds exciting!
"We're thrilled to debut this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game for our younger Turtles fans," said Nickelodeon's Senior Vice President of Entertainment Products, Sherice Torres. "Jam-packed with all the ninjas, nunchucks and non-stop action Turtles fans crave, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set to delight fans around the globe when it launches in time for the holidays."
Strangely enough, the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game will only be available on the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii and 3DS systems. No PS3 or PC versions have been announced. The Xbox 360 and Wii versions will feature four-person, local, drop-in-and-out co-op gameplay.
It is expected to launch on October 22 in North America, October 23 in Asia and Australia, and October 25 across Europe and Latin America.
