Blizzard Entertainment provided an update and some insight into their Connected Realms program — an effort that combines low-population World of Warcraft servers to reduce the number of them available. There's already been several connections completed, but the next set of connections are scheduled for January 9, 2014 during a scheduled maintenance starting at 6 a.m. PST and ending at approximately 11 a.m. PST.
The next set of realms to be connected on that date are:
- Bladefist and Kul Tiras
- Nazgrel and Nesingwary/Vek'nilash
- Nazjatar and Blood Furnace/ Mannoroth
- Norgannon and Kargath
- Stormscale and Drak'Tharon/Firetree/Malorne/Rivendare/Spirestone
- Uldaman and Ravencrest
These following connections are also planned but do not have a date for when Blizzard will do so:
- Antonidas and Uldum
- Blade's Edge and Thunderhorn
- Bonechewer and Aegwynn/Daggerspine/Gurubashi/Hakkar
- Destromath and Azgalor/Azshara
- Jaedenar and Agamaggan
- Shu'halo and Eitrigg
- Anvilmar and Undermine (TBD- On Hold)
