Xbox One owners who didn't get invited to the Titanfall alpha — described by developer Respawn Entertainment as "limited" technical testing — are not completely out of luck.
Titanfall community manager Abbie Heppe, when asked about the potential for an open beta, responded, "It's possible." Unfortunately, that's all she had to offer as Respawn has been pretty tight-lipped about the testing.
Respawn began sending emails for alpha last week to select Xbox One owners. The studio clarified that it was not a beta, and that those invited were strictly prohibited from posting any sort of information or footage. As with most of these technical tests, bug finding seems to be the main importance. It's unclear how long Titanfall will remain in this stage, but we'll be sure to keep an eyes open for any sort of beta opportunities.
Titanfall will be available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC platforms on March 11, 2014 in North America. It'll be available in Europe two days later on March 13, 2014. Despite multiple rumors, the game is not a timed-exclusive and will be available only on the three aforementioned platforms for its lifetime.
