Variety is a damn great thing, which is exactly why we're going to look at a few largely different games on this edition of the Indie Roundup. We've got puzzlers and platformers as well as stealth and action titles. Whether you're looking for something offbeat, artsy, or just plain weird, we've got a handful of games that will suit those needs. So without further ado, here are five noteworthy news stories from the brilliantly diverse world of indie gaming.

Drunken Robot Pornography exiting Steam Early Access next week
Steam Early Access has allowed developers to release their games while simultaneously taking the voice of their audience into account. A lot of the time, though, it seems as though games are in Early Access for ludicrously long periods of time. Thankfully, that's not the case regarding the beautifully titled Drunken Robot Pornography from Dejobaan Games.
The first-person flying/shooting/action game will officially exit Early Access and hit the Steam storefront proper beginning Wednesday, February 19. Since its time as an Early Access title, Drunken Robot Pornography has grown and evolved from a neat idea to something spectacularly weird. There are giant robot dinosaurs, hectic boss battles, and loads of user-generated content for you to check out.
You can still snag Drunken Robot Pornography on Early Access for $9.99. When the game officially launches next week, however, the price will be increased to $14.99, so get it while it's a bit cheaper if wild robotic action sounds enticing to you.
Kentucky Route Zero Act 3 update
If you put down cash on the episodic Kentucky Route Zero and are clamoring for the next chapter, you don't have to worry about the project being scrapped. In fact, Act 3 is coming, though developer Cardboard Computer doesn't exactly have a solid release date planned just yet. Thankfully, the studio has confirmed that the forthcoming episodes will indeed arrive, so fret not.
“We are asked sometimes if the project is abandoned,” reads a blog post from Cardboard Computer. “No! Acts 3, 4, and 5 are still coming out. We’ve never stopped working on Kentucky Route Zero, and there’s no risk of us abandoning it. Making this game is what we do.”
In the past, Cardboard Computer made official announcements regarding release dates for the first episodes of Kentucky Route Zero. According to the dev, when those plans fell through and the chapters had to be pushed back, the studio was faced with some negativity and disappointment. In that sense, it's understandable that Cardboard Computer doesn't want to get too specific with launch plans. At least we have an idea where the game and the studio are at right now.
Traverser is a mysterious stealth-adventure game that we need to know more about
When a developer tells and shows you very little of its game, it makes for feelings of fascination, intrigue, and curiosity. Then there's also excitement and confusion. Of course, there's even rage, because damn it, I want to know what Traverser is all about now! Right now! Or else!
Okay, so maybe I'm not actually angry or upset, but I can't be the only one who really wants to know more about Traverser. Thus far, Gatling Goat Studios has released some screenshots and a vague trailer. The project is described as an “adventure game which takes place in a two-sided underground city where you play as Valerie, the traverser, who must flip between the two sides of the city to evade guards and find out which of the sides are right.”
Traverser takes place in a seemingly post-apocalyptic world. It's up to you to engage in puzzles, sneak around, and discover the truths between the opposing sides of the split world. Check out a trailer of Traverser below:
New Treasurenauts trailer has gems and giant crabs
Jools Watsham of Renegade Kid took to YouTube to post a new trailer for the upcoming jewel-heavy platformer Treasurenauts. It's just over a minute long, but if you're interested in the game, it's sure to get you even more stoked to play it. There's nothing really fancy about it, but we do get a look at some more gameplay, which is cool.
Aside from all of the delicious treasure hunting, there's also a ghost chase and a giant crab boss. Oh, and our buddy Max from Mutant Mudds makes an appearance yet again. Yay for cameos!
The game looks like a beautifully pixelated mass of varied environments and treasure. If you dig retro-inspired platformers, definitely be on the lookout for this one on the 3DS. You can check out the new trailer for Treasurenauts right here:
